    What we teach

Every lesson starts with what you want to do. We cover the basics first, then the habits that keep you safe online.

    Phones and tablets

Turning on, charging, making calls, text size, volume, apps, and finding your way around with confidence.

    Email and messages

Sending, replying, attaching photos, and knowing which messages to open and which to delete.

    Video calls with family

Seeing the grandchildren from anywhere. Joining and starting calls, sound, camera and good lighting.

    Passwords you can manage

Strong passwords that are still memorable, safe places to keep them, and why not to reuse them.

    Scams, calls and texts

How to recognize phishing, fake bank messages, tax scams and “family emergency” texts, and how to respond calmly.

    Banking and shopping safely

What to look for before you pay online, how to protect your card details, and what a safe website looks like.

Also on request: updates and backups, Wi-Fi at home, printers, photos, and reading the news online. Topics are placeholders to be confirmed by the owner.

    Two ways to learn

Choose a quiet one-on-one lesson, or bring a whole community together for a group hour.

    Common questions

Do I need to know anything already?

No. We start wherever you are, even if you have never touched a tablet. Every question is welcome.

Do I need my own device?

It helps, because you learn on what you use every day. If you do not have one, we can talk about what is best for you before you buy anything.

How long is a group session?

One hour, which is easy to place in an activity calendar and gentle on attention and energy.

    Where do the sessions happen?

Based in Toronto, we come to the senior home for group sessions. For personal sessions we can arrange a place that suits you. Locations and travel details are to be confirmed by the owner.

Will you ask for my passwords or bank details?

Never. We teach you to keep those private, and we will never ask you to share them with us.

What if I think I have already been scammed?

Do not be embarrassed, it happens to careful people. Stop contact, call your bank using the number on your card, and report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. We can help you with the next steps.

A small lesson can protect a lifetime of savings.
